Thanks for the links on the Apple and Jazz projects. If I'm reading correctly, it was your daughter who cut her hair for the 911 fundraiser. You have obviously been a great role model for your students and your daughter. I hope you are enjoying your retirement and that you will share more of the good things you have seen in your years as an educator. As parents, we are open to ideas that have worked in the past and can be done again. Many of our initiatives benefit others - Adopt-a-family at Christmas, Lancaster clothing drive (clothing, bicycles) for a school which has many under-privileged families, and our largest charity event is Dance-a-thon, with all proceeds going to McMaster Hospital. Over the past 5 years, our school has donated over $12,000 to McMaster. The kids are amazing -- the MacKids teddy bear sells for $30 -- and kids line up to get them and donate their money.
I Jim, your comment nothing has been resolved is that your issue as well?
Yes the Irish situation is depressing. I do not know when the Catholic church is going to wake up to the deep seated problems caused by celibacy.
